Carlos Delgado
Full Player Profile →
Delgado was one of the most dangerous left-handed power bats of his generation. He paired 470+ homers with strong on-base skill, which separates him from pure low-OBP sluggers. His best seasons were elite, including years where he combined huge slug with excellent plate discipline. He was a consistent middle-of-the-order threat for a long stretch, not just a brief peak. He punished right-handed pitching and could carry an offense for months at a time. His approach wasn’t reckless; he walked enough to keep his floor high even when the average dipped. He also produced big RBI totals without being dependent on inflated BABIP seasons. In modern lineup terms, he’s the classic “three true outcomes plus extra-base damage” star done at a high level. If you’re drafting for power and OBP at first base, Delgado is an easy top-20 name.
