Simmons was ahead of his time offensively, combining power with strong OBP. His 118 career OPS+ deserves more recognition. As a switch-hitter, he provided lineup flexibility and sustained production. He wasn’t flashy but was consistently effective. Offensive undervaluation keeps him underrated historically.
